The most significant surcharge in our business is the stainless steel surcharge. There is a Stainless Steel Index for each of the North American, European and Asian markets – see the charts below: The relevant one for us is the Asian index. Click Here to see the index We charge stainless steel surcharge either as a separate line item on an invoice or include it in our unit price – whichever way our customer requests it.

Fuel surcharges apply to all shipments – air, sea and inland. War risk surcharges only apply to sea shipments in certain parts of the world (including much of asia) and are included in the fuel surcharge.

For Sea freight

BAF is calculated based on the weight or measure (per W/M or CBM)

For Air freight

Fuel surcharge is based on the Chargeable weight (volumetric weight or actual weight – depending which is greater)
Security Surcharge is based on the Chargeable weight (volumetric weight or actual weight – depending which is greater)

Inland freight

Fuel Surcharge is based on a % based on the total cost for inland freight (example 85.00 inland freight x 15 % = $12.75)
